Membership Representatives Advisory Group appoints new Chair

CASES is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chair to the Membership Representative Advisory Group.
Matthew Ellis is the Membership Representative for the Sport and Performance Division, one of five membership representatives from each division who make up the advisory group. The group acts as a voice for the members to CASES influence strategy and review and improve the membership package and communications.
Following previous Chair's (Dr Miranda Armstrong) move to become Deputy Chair of the Physical Activity for Health Division, Matt has stepped up to Chair the group's work going forward.
Matt is the Programme Lead for MSc Sport and Exercise Science and a lecturer in Sport and Exercise Physiology at Plymouth Marjon University, specialising in human performance and training optimisation. As a member representative for the Chartered Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (CASES), Matt supports professional development and promotes evidence-based practices in sport science.
With experience in professional football, Matt has applied their expertise to enhance athletic performance, injury prevention, and recovery. They have also consulted with athletes from various sports, offering tailored training and assessments. Matt holds a PhD in training load, focusing on optimising athlete development and minimising injury risks. Their work provides insights into balancing training intensity and recovery for long-term success.
