Teaching and Learning Enhancement

The CASES Teaching and Learning Enhancement Division will provide a forum to promote, support, and advance education practices across the CASES membership, supporting members within Higher Education and in practice across the disciplines of the Sport and Exercise Sciences.

The Division aims to develop a network of sport and exercise scientists studying or working within educational areas and represent their interests by organising CPD and networking events and developing and sharing useful resources.

You can follow the Division's activity and news on our CASES Teaching and Learning Enhancement Division LinkedIn page.

If you are a CASES member, check out the Teaching and Learning Enhancement Hub (Link) in the Members' Area, where you can access a range of resources including videos and presentations from the CASES Conference and Division events.

If you are not currently a member of this Division, but would like to join to receive news and updates, you can do this within your Member Profile.

The work of the Teaching and Learning Enhancement Division

Graduate recognition scheme – The Division aims to support students moving into CASES membership by administering the graduate recognition scheme. All students who graduate from a CASES endorsed course (CUES) are eligible for a recognition certificate and digital logo to add to personal documentation and profiles. We also track graduates as they progress towards full membership.

Further information on the Scheme can be found here.

Pedagogy accreditation – The Division aims to support applications for CASES pedagogy accreditation. A mentorship program is available for direct applicants to help identify and document teaching and learning related activities. Please contact Dr Eddie Bradley for further information.

Degree standards – The Division is examining how consistency can be achieved across institutions and delivery approaches, centred around our understanding of quality standards.

Digital repository – We aim to develop a series of teaching and learning resources to aid academics and practitioners in delivering high-quality education and enhancing student experiences. If you are a CASES member, the repository of educational resources are available for academics to access in the Members Area. We would love to hear from you about what you would find useful!

Teaching and Learning Enhancement Research – Members of the Division are actively involved in teaching and learning enhancement related research. This includes understanding the current evidence that exists in sport and exercise science pedagogy research and determining future research priorities. If you are interested in participating in or discussing teaching and learning research, contact a member of the Teaching and Learning Enhancement Division Committee. Contact details can be found within the Division Hub pages in the Members' Area.

Promoting Teaching and Learning – The Division aims to share information and good practice across the disciplines of sport and exercise sciences. This includes developing and hosting webinars and presentations. Pedagogy cases studies are available within the Division Hub pages in the Members' Area and teaching and learning articles are published in The Sport and Exercise Scientist magazine.
